Sherman played basketball for Indiana State University from 1983-1986 and still holds the school’s record for consecutive starts and minutes played. He led Indiana State in scoring in each of his four seasons and averaged more than twenty points in his final three years in Terre Haute. He was selected as an All-American in 1983, 1985, and 1986, and was inducted into the ISU Hall of Fame in 2010. A two-time member of the All Missouri Valley Conference first team, Williams is one of three ISU Sycamores on the MVC All-Centennial team, joining Larry Bird and Carl Nicks. Williams also was honored by his high school, Washington High School, in Indianapolis in 2013, when he was inducted into the high school’s basketball Hall of Fame. For the past thirteen years, Heritage has been blessed by Williams’ presence, as he tends to our athletics facilities and even helps to direct traffic to and from campus on busy 75th Street. He still loves basketball and shares the experience through individual training with Heritage students who want some extra help on the court.
Athletics Administrative Assistant
Jennifer has been part of the HCS family for almost 25 years. (Her husband is 8th grade US History teacher, Len Somers.) After staying home with their 4 children, she joined the Heritage staff in the Early Childhood Department for four years. Since that time, Jennifer has served the community as a 911 Dispatcher. She is very excited to rejoin the HCS staff as the Athletics Administrative Assistant. She loves sports of all kinds (especially when her children were participating at HCS), and is an avid long-distance runner. She looks forward to using her organizational and "people" skills to serve the athletics department, student athletes and their families.
